Mental Training - The Basketball IntelliGym™

Players... are you serious about basketball? Do you want to do everything you can to become a great player? Are you practicing a lot, but making bad decisions during games?

Coaches... are you tired of players making the same mental errors over and over?

train your brain! The Basketball IntelliGym™ by Applied Cognitive Engineering.

Practice, practice more, train and get in the weight room. Attend camps and clinics. Learn from your coaches. Look at videos and basketball websites. All these things will help you to become a better athlete and player.

But what about the mental side... mental quickness, making good decisions during games, basketball IQ, seeing the floor, court sense, etc?

Up until now, coaches have thought that these things were just something you were born with, like a "gift"... not something you could actually teach or learn. This is all changing now with the Basketball IntelliGym™, a program that "trains your brain". It teaches you to make better decisions, that lead to more assists and steals, fewer turnovers, better shot selection, etc.

How does it work? What is it?
The Basketball IntelliGym™ is a computer program that looks and plays like a video game, but it is actually a sophisticated training system. Playing with the Basketball IntelliGym™ for just 30 minutes once or twice a week, for only a few weeks, leads to a substantial improvement in real-time decision making, anticipation, concentration, attention-span, team-play, fast response time and court sense.

Similar programs were used to train fighter pilots, with a significant improvement in performance. Now this technology has been applied to basketball. Playing the video game exercises the brain in a way that simulates the quick thinking and decisions you need to make in the game setting. Like weight training, you only do this two or three times a week, with at least 24 hours between sessions. There is nothing to learn or remember, and nothing to study. You just have fun and play it like a video game!

How does this benefit players.
They see the court. They understand what's happening. They learn to anticipate. They make the correct decisions. It's like the game has slowed down in their own minds.

See these testimonials from coaches and players at all levels... including Hubie Brown (NBA Hall of Fame coach), John Calipari (Memphis), and Jim Calhoun (UConn). The NCAA Champion Florida Gators, Memphis, Kentucky and other programs have used it.
